RIYADH, Aug 20 (KUNA) -- Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Abdullatif Al-Zayyani strongly criticized the remarks made by chief of Lebanese Hezbollah faction, Hassan Nasrallah, on Friday, calling it both "contradictory" and "irresponsible." In remarks late on Monday, the GCC official said the speech is very inappropriate. It is very irresponsible to boast of involvement in the fighting in Syria and to even go as far as promise further involvement, at a time when all is calling for restraint. "This is a flagrant interference in Syrian internal affairs and a clear breach of Syrian sovereignty," Al-Zayyani stressed.
"While the world at large is in agreement over condemnation of the participation of Hezbollah militants in the fighting in Syria and calling for the faction to pull out its fighters, Hassan Nasrallah seems to insist on, even boast of his militants' involvement in the slaughtering of women, children, and other innocent Syrians, and in the destruction of Syrian cities and property. He also continues to terrorize the Lebanese as well as Syrian people with his arms and the faction's willingness to double fighters in Syria and with his willingness to take part in the killing of Syrians on Syrian soil himself," the official bitterly stated.(end) ad.wsa KUNA 200929 Aug 13NNNN
