MADRID, April 8 (KUNA) -- Spanish prime minister Mariano Rajoy said Monday
Madrid and London were very concerned over the deterioration of humanitarian
situation in Syria, calling for solving the Syrian crisis politically.
Rajoy, at a joint news conference following his talks with his British
counterpart David Cameron, said Britain and Spain were contributing, within
the European Union (EU), to uniting different Syrian opposition groups in
order to guarantee a political transition.
Cameron did not attend the news conference and returned to London
immediately after the news of the death of former prime minister Baroness
Margret Thatcher.
Rajoy said he and Cameron discussed the situation in Mali, noting that
Spain and Britain were keen on peaceful settlement in the African country.
They also discussed the economic crisis in the eurozone, he said, and that
the two sides agreed to continue reforms in all sectors. (end)
