MOSCOW, Oct 26 (KUNA) -- Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov is poised
to undertake a Middle East tour in November that will take him to, among other
destinations, Egypt and Jordan, the ministry spokesman Alexander Lukashevich
said on Friday.
Specifically, on November 4, he will visit Egypt where he will hold talks
with his counterpart Muhammad Amr and with President Muhammad Morsi.
Chief among issues to be discussed will be pushing Arab-Israeli peace talks
forward, the situation in Syria and Libya, curbing the proliferation of
nuclear weapons, and fighting terrorism, said the spokesman.
While there, Lavrov will also meet with Arab League Secretary General Nabil
Al-Arabi.
On November 5, Lavrov will be in Jordan where he will hold extensive
regional and international talks with King Abdulla II, said the spokesman.
While in Jordan, Lavrov will also meet with visiting chief of the
Palestinian Authority Mahmoud Abbas with whom he will review the latest
developments in the Middle East peace talks between the Israelis and the
Palestinians, said the spokesman. (end)
