CAIRO, Oct 25 (KUNA) -- The "Miles of Smiles 17" aid convoy has entered the
Gaza Strip via Rafah crossing, it was announced here on Thursday.
The aid convoy contained 25 wheelchair vans, 50 tons of flour, and 40 tons
of medications and medical aid, Maj. Gen. Jaber al-Arabi, secretary of the
North Sinai Governorate and head of the Egyptian Red Crescent office in
Areesh, said in a press statement.
Al-Arabi noted that the entering procedures were done in coordination with
Palestinian Red Crescent.
Nearly 133 activists of "Miles of Smiles 17", from various Arab and
international nationalities, entered the Gaza Strip on Wednesday.
On the other hand, food aid of 32.5 tons of meat, which was donated by an
Egyptian charity on the occasion of Eid Al-Adha, has also entered Gaza in
coordination with Egyptian Red Crescent. (end)
