IRBIL, July 10 (KUNA) -- One Iraqi civilian was killed and a police officer injured in two separate attacks in Kirkuk province in northern Iraq on Tuesday.
The civilian was killed when armed men opened fire at his vehicle, on his way to work in Tabah, north of Kirkuk, Police Director of Al-Aqdiya Brigadier Sarhad Qader told KUNA.
The Iraqi security official added, in a separate attack a joint security and police force conducted a raid operation in Al-Zab and Howaijah area west of Kirkuk, which resulted in the arrest of 10 terror suspects, including the confiscation of weapon ammunition and equipment.
The city of Kirkuk, 250 kilometer north of Baghdad, has been witnessing attacks on civilian and security forces by armed groups on a daily basis, amid exerted efforts by police to restore order in the city. (end) sbr.mb KUNA 102012 Jul 12NNNN
