GAZA, June 24 (KUNA) -- Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu expressed his appreciation on Sunday for the democratic process which took place in Egypt, stressing that Israel would respect the outcome.
After the announcement of Egyptian presidential election, Netanyahu said in a statement that Israel "appreciates the democratic process in Egypt, respect its outcome, and is keen to continue cooperation with the Egyptian government based on the signed peace treaty between the two countries and for the interests of the two nations and stability in the region." Earlier, Israeli officials expressed concerns over ties between Egypt and Israel, particularly if Islamic Brotherhood nominee Mohammad Morsi did win the presidential election, which he won.
