TOKYO, June 19 (KUNA) -- The Japanese government decided Tuesday to send Crown Prince Naruhito and former House of Councillors President Satsuki Eda to Saudi Arabia to offer their condolences over the death of Crown Prince Nayef bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. According to the decision made at a Cabinet meeting, Crown Prince Naruhito and Eda, who will serve as Japanese government's special envoy, are to leave Tokyo on Wednesday.
Crown Prince Nayef died in Geneva on Saturday. Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihiko Noda has expressed his condolences over his death, while expressing his appreciation to the late crown prince's great contribution to the peace and stability of Islamic world as well as the entire world. The premier also praised the significant role he had played in maintaining security in the Kingdom and enhancing friendly and cooperative relations between Saudi Arabia and other countries, including Japan.
