PARIS, March 27 (KUNA) - The French government on Tuesday reiterated its condemnation of incursions by Syrian forces into Lebanon after clashes on the joint border and firing and incursions into Lebanon were reported earlier.
Reports said that Syrian army forces had clashed with opposition forces from the Free Syria Army and the Syrians had crossed the border and fired into villages in the Bekka Valley.
"We condemn these incursions by Syrian forces of repression into Lebanon and we express again our attachment to the territorial integrity of Lebanon," Foreign Ministry spokesman Bernard Valero told journalists.
"We condemn these incursions and the daily massacres and use of violence (in Syria)," he added, deploring the mounting death toll.
He also called on the Syrian opposition groups to work towards unity in their meeting Tuesday in Istanbul. (End) jk.ajs KUNA 271635 Mar 12NNNN
