(With photos) KUWAIT, March 22 (KUNA) -- Amid fierce competition Kuwait shooters continued Thursday dominance of the 10th Arab Shooting Championship with medals of different colors.
In a press statement, Kuwait Shooting Club said Kuwaiti shooters are leading the Arab Championship with seven medals, 4 gold, 3 silver and one bronze; followed by Saudi Arabia with six medals, 3 gold, 2 sliver and one bronze; Qatar five medals, one gold, 2 silver and 2 bronze; Morocco, one gold, one bronze; Bahrain, one silver and two bronze; and Lebanon and Oman with one bronze each.
Kuwaiti shooter Sarah Al-Hawal has won the gold medal for women trap singles; Khaled Al-Sebai won 10-meter rifle men's gold medal and Ali Farhan Al-Muttairi snatched 10-meter rifle juniors' gold medal.
Kuwaiti shooting team, comprising Mohammad Mohammad, Ali Farhan and Bandar Al-Muttairi, won the 10-meter rifle men juniors' gold medal.
Meanwhile, the international shooting tournament is witnessing fierce competition among world shooters.
2010 world champion and currently Europe's top shooter, Hungarian Peter Sidi won the gold medal for 10-meter rifle men competition and 2009 world champion, Serbian Damir Mikec got the gold medal for 50-meter gun competition.
Kazakh female shooter Mariya Dmitriyenko snatched the gold medal for 75 trap women competition.
Around 500 shooters from 36 countries are participating in the Amir Shooting Tournament which is held at Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah Olympic Shooting Complex.
The tournament is a great opportunity for many world shooters to prepare for the upcoming Olympics 2012 in London and for next month World Cup competition in London.
