WASHINGTON, Feb 2 (KUNA) -- The United States expressed on Thursday its
deepest condolences after the violence yesterday at a soccer match in Egypt.
"We express our deepest condolences to the Egyptian people on the tragedy
in Port Said which resulted in scores of dead and wounded," said State
Department spokesperson Victoria Nuland in a statement.
"Our thoughts and prayers are with those affected by the violence and their
families," she added.
Over 74 people were killed yesterday in the country's worst ever soccer
violence between rival fans. (End)
