RIYADH, Dec 2 (KUNA) -- Saudi Arabia's King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz made a decision on Wednesday to develop 10,000 housing plots for citizens of the southeastern region of Jazan, who were displaced as a result of fighting between Saudi authorities and neighbouring Yemeni Houthi rebels.
"The king ordered the swift completion of the houses for their delivery to those in need in a year's time or less, including all services required like mosques, medical centres, schools and other essential services," read a statement by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
The king during a scheduled visit to Jazan affirmed his armed forces' readiness "to protect the country and its people from any wrongdoer or terrorist mercenary," the statement added.
King Abdullah also indicated to his country's right to protect itself in the face of invaders. (end) od.sd KUNA 021952 Dec 09NNNN
