TEHRAN, Aug 19 (KUNA) -- Iran said on Tuesday the International Criminal Court (ICC) had no jurisdiction over the disputable ownership of the three islands in the Arabian Gulf. "The islands of Abu Moussa and Greater and Lesser Tunbs are inseparable parts of the Iranian territory," the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) quoted Spokesman of the Iranian Judiciary Alireza Jamshidi as saying here. Jamshidi regretted that "certain states" were trying to politicize and internationalize the issue by involving the ICC in investigating Iran's sovereignty over the three islands. "According to international documents and historical background, there is no doubt about Iranian ownership of the three islands," he asserted. (end) ht.gb.
