DAMASCUS, April 5 (KUNA) -- The United Nations High Commission for Refugees
(UNHCR) on Saturday said that it had deported 38 Palestinians refugees out of
117 to Chile after they were trapped at the Syrian-Iraqi border for almost two
months.
UNHCR in a press statement said that these Palestinian refugees were
fleeing from Iraq because of the deteriorating security conditions that forced
many of them to move to Jordan and Syria.
Sudan has declared hosting the rest of the Palestinians trapped at the
border in Syria, which said it faced difficulties in hosting refugees unless
international material assistance were provided. (end)
