ANKARA, Oct 1 (KUNA) -- Fifteen illegal immigrants drowned in Aegean Sea
west of Turkey after trying to cross the borders to Greece.
According to Anadolu News Agency, the Turkish coast guards have reported
that 27 immigrants began their ill-fated journey near a town on the coastline
of Balikesir province west of the country.
About 11 people were rescued, indicated the statement, fearing that the
rest have perished.
Some 31 immigrants were arrested by the authorities in the past few days in
an Island near the sinking sites. (end)
