MoH: 662 new coronavirus infection cases in Kuwait, 5 deaths

KUWAIT, June 8 (KUNA) -- The Ministry of Health announced, Monday, 662 new infections of the coronavirus (COVID-19), raising the total to 32,510. Deaths reached 269 with the addition of five fatalities.
Official spokesperson of the Ministry of Health, Dr. Abdullah Al-Sanad said in a press conference that the 662 infections included 340 Kuwaitis, 122 Indians, 36 Bangladeshis, 46 Egyptians and the rest of other nationalities.
Currently, there are 166 patients receiving treatment at intensive care wards, Dr. Al-Sanad revealed.
Meanwhile, the health authorities conducted 2,999 swabs, in past 24 hours, raising whole count of such tests to 318,284, Dr. Al-Sanad added.
Earlier, the Health Ministry announced the recovery of 1,037 people from the coronavirus (COVID-19), bringing the tally to 21,242. (end) mak.gta
