Lebanese army arrests Palestinian with "ties to terrorism"

BEIURT, Sept 19 (KUNA) -- The Lebanese military said on Wednesday that it had detained a Palestinian man accused of "links to terrorism" inside a refugee camp in south Lebanon.
Biha Al-Din Hajair was arrested as part of "continuous efforts to flush out any terror elements" in the Palestinian Ain Al-Hilweh refugee camp, the army said in a statement.
The Palestinian suspect was wanted in connection with the 2013 Iranian embassy bombing in Beirut, in addition to his "intention to carry out suicide attacks in Lebanon." Security in Lebanon's Palestinian camps is the responsibility of a joint Palestinian force, not the Lebanese security forces, meaning that the army hardly ever gains access. (end) wsm.nam
