ANKARA, Feb 23 (KUNA) -- The Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs has summoned the Dutch charge d'affaires in Ankara due to a recent Dutch parliament decision to recognize Armenians' events of 1915 as "genocide".
The Dutch diplomat, who was summoned for the second time in a week, was notified of Turkey's concerns over the Dutch parliament's vote regarding the 1915 events, diplomatic sources were quoted by Anadolu news agency as saying.
The Dutch parliament on Thursday voted for a decision to recognize First World War killings of Armenians during the Ottoman Empire as "genocide".
The Netherlands formally withdrew its ambassador to Ankara in February over tensions between both sides when some Turkish officials were prevented from meetings with Turkish communities in the Netherlands for constitutional change campaigns.
Tensions between the two countries deteriorated during campaigning for Turkey's 2017 constitutional referendum, which granted Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan more executive powers. (end)
