KUWAIT, Feb 22 (KUNA) -- The Kuwaiti embassies in Romania and Greece, and the Consulate in Istanbul, Turkey, have marked Kuwait's 57th National Day, the Gulf country's 27th Liberation Day and 12th anniversary of His Highness Amir's ascendance to power.
Kuwait's Ambassador in Bucharest Talal Al-Hajri held a reception on the national occasion, attended by a multitude of high profile political and economic figures, led by State Secretary for Bilateral and Global Affairs at the Romanian Foreign Ministry Monica Gheorghita, the guest of honor.
The ceremony was also attended by senior state officials, MPs, head of Arab and foreign diplomatic missions and leading media figures and businessmen.
Al-Hajri congratulated His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, as well as the Kuwaiti Government and people on the dear occasion.
He also lauded the deep-rooted ties with Romania, pointing to the development of mechanisms of bilateral political, economic and cultural cooperation.
The envoy highlighted Kuwait's hosting of two major international events recently, the Kuwait International Conference for the Reconstruction of Iraq (KICRI) and the ministerial meeting of the International Coalition against the so-called Islamic State (IS).
For her part, Gheorghita stressed the solid ties between the two countries, and Romania' support to Kuwait's efforts for countering extremism and terrorism.
Kuwait and Romania mark this year the 55th anniversary of diplomatic relations ties between both In a similar reception in Athens, Kuwait's ambassador Saud Al-Duwaish underscored Kuwaitis' pride of the great achievements realized at home, namely deepening the constitutional institutions and reinforcing bases of democracy, turning of Kuwait an "oasis of security and stability" thanks to the wise policy of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, despite conditions in the region.
Al-Duwaish offered his congratulations to His Highness the Amir, His Highness the Crown Prince and His Highness the Premier, and the Kuwaiti people wishing the country perpetual growth and prosperity.
Kuwait's Consul General in Istanbul Mohammad Al-Mohammad held a reception, attended by Governor of ?stanbul Vasip ?ahin, and a host of the Arab and Turkish dignitaries.
Congratulating His Highness the Amir, His Highness the Crown Prince and His Highness the Premier, and the Kuwaiti people on the occasion, Al-Mohammad stressed the solid and well-established ties with Turkey, recalling Ankara's support to his country after the Iraqi invasion of 1990 and also in the liberation war.
