BEIRUT, Feb 2 (KUNA) -- Lebanon's military court issued Friday a death sentence against Ali Laqees, a Syrian who belonged to Al-Nusra Front, for killing Lebanese soldier Mohammad Hamiya.
The court issued another death sentence in absentia against Jamal Zeiniya, also known as Abu Malem Telli, for ordering the execution of Hamiya.
Al-Nusra Front kidnapped a number of Lebanese servicemen in August 2014 in an attack against posts of the army and internal security in Arsal, northeast Lebanon. They were released in 2015.
Al-Nusra militants left Lebanon last year. (end)
