CAIRO, Feb 1 (KUNA) -- The State of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, who arrived in Cairo earlier Thursday, took part later in the day in a meeting of the Arab Peace Initiative Committee.
Participants in the meeting discussed Arab action to face the recent US decision "recognizing Jerusalem as Israel's capital" and shifting the American embassy from Tel Aviv to the holy city. They also discussed future steps to "resist this decision which desecrates Jerusalem's historic and legal status." This issue will be discussed again at the resumed ministerial meeting, due later tonight.
Sheikh Sabah Khaled's delegation that took part in the meeting included the State of Kuwait Ambassador to Egypt Mohammad Saleh Al-Thuwaikh, Assistant Foreign Minister for the Arab World Affairs Ambassador Aziz Al-Daihani, Deputy Assistant Foreign Minister for Foreign Minister's Office Affairs, Ambassador Saleh Al-Loughani, the Permanent Delegate at the Arab League Ambassador Ahmad Al-Bakr and ministry officials.
