KUWAIT, Jan 30 (KUNA) -- Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Dr. Abdul-Latif Al-Zayani said Tuesday that His Highness the Amir has always been devoted to Arab and Islamic issues.
"His Highness the Amir is undoubtedly deserving of the moniker of humanitarian leader," he told KUNA upon his arrival in Kuwait to attend the 10th International Invention Fair in the Middle East.
The UN-bestowed title is a "testament to His Highness the Amir's unwavering commitment to humanitarian causes," Al-Zayani added.
The GCC chief hailed His Highness the Amir as a "beloved figure and wise leader," congratulating him on his 12th anniversary in office, which is "near and dear to our hearts." On the invention fair, Al-Zayani said he was highly impressed with the quality of projects on display, which should serve as incentive for youngsters to translate their creative ideas into reality.
He pointed out that he is a proponent of such events that allow the government and private sectors to collaborate, which can only be beneficial for the economy. (end) mrf.nam
