Kuwait's top lawmaker in Cairo for Jerusalem meeting

CAIRO, Jan 14 (KUNA) -- Kuwaiti National Assembly Speaker Marzouq Al-Ghanim arrived in Cairo on Sunday to attend an international conference aiming at supporting Jerusalem.
He was received at the airport by several Egyptian officials and Kuwaiti diplomats in Cairo.
Al-Ghanim is expected to deliver a speech during the gathering organized by Egypt's key Sunni institution of Al-Azhar.
Many Arab and Muslim religious and political dignitaries are scheduled to attend the conference, which comes in the aftermath of US President Donald Trump's controversial decision to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. (end) msh.mt
