50 Palestinians wounded in Gaza clashes

GAZA, Dec 29 (KUNA) -- At least 50 Palestinians were wounded in clashes with Israeli troops along demarcation lines of Gaza strip on Friday.
Spokesman of the Palestinian Healthy Ministry Ashraf Al-Qudra said in a statement that five of the injured were in critical condition.
Al-Qudra added that 11 Palestinians were wounded east of Jebalya, 19 east of Gaza, six east of Al-Buraij and 14 near Khan Youness.
Medics have given first aid to 120 activists on the field, he said indicating that a number of them suffered from tear gas.
The confrontations between the activists and the Israeli forces erupted when the Palestinians staged demonstrations after Friday prayers to protest Washington's decision to "recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel." (end) wib.rk
