Flight to Doha returns safely to airport due to smoke -- Kuwait Airways

KUWAIT, Dec 28 (KUNA) -- Kuwait Airways announced on Thursday that its flight No. 619 heading to Doha had returned to Kuwait airport due to an emission of smoke from the baggage compartment.
The plane landed safely and the passengers were unharmed, the company told KUNA in a statement.
Required measures in line with applied international aviation safety standards were taken and it was determined that the plane was free from any faults, the KAC said.
The company noted that the aircraft is still at Kuwait airport, and its flight will be rescheduled to Doha.
Kuwait Airways is considered one of the oldest companies in the Gulf; it was established in 1953 as a private company. The Kuwaiti government's acquisition completely of the firm was in 1962. (end) aam.hm
