MOSCOW, Dec 17 (KUNA) -- Three gunmen were killed by the Russian armed forces in the Republic of Dagestan north of the Caucasus region, said a security source Sunday.
The interfax news agency said that a source at the Russian anti-terrorism committee indicated that the three gunmen were killed in a town located in Dagestan's Karabudakhkentsky District.
The source said that the identity of one of the assailants was confirmed. It did not provide any further details on the incident.
The northern Caucasus region is usually the venue of armed conflicts amongst several groups and Russian forces. (end)
