ICRC lauds Kuwait's great humanitarian role

GENEVA, Nov 28 (KUNA) -- President of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) Peter Maurer on Tuesday praised His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah's wisdom and foresight in dealing with humanitarian crises.
Maurer made his remarks to KUNA after his meeting with Kuwait's permanent delegate to the UN and international organizations headquarters in Geneva, Ambassador Jamal Al-Ghunaim, in which they discussed the coordination of humanitarian aids funded by Kuwait for the Syrian refugees.
He added that Kuwait's wise leadership has made it a leading and proactive country for supporting the poor and needy.
For his part, Ambassador Al-Gunaim affirmed keenness to work and coordinate with humanitarian organizations to deliver various forms of assistance needed to the people struggling to survive under exceptional circumstances.
He pointed out to the existing cooperation means to strengthen the strategic partnership between Kuwait and international humanitarian organizations. (end) ta.haq
