Lebanese PM Al-Hariri withholds resignation to give space for dialogue

BEIRUT, Nov 22 (KUNA) -- Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Al-Hariri announced Wednesday that he withheld his resignation upon a request by President Michel Aoun.
Speaking in Beirut, Al-Hariri said that the President requested him to withhold his resignation as a step to give space for dialogue in the country.
Al-Hariri thanked President Aoun for his concerns for Lebanon, affirming that the country's best interest was the goal that all Lebanese should strive to reach.
He called on all Lebanese sides to focus on the bigger picture and prevent the country being influenced by regional crises.
On November fourth, Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Al-Hariri announced his resignation during a televise appearance.
The resignation was not approved by President Aoun who called on the Prime Minister to return to the country to submit the paper through constitutional means. (end) ayb.gta
