Gov't forces take over IS last stronghold in Syria - reports

AMMAN, Nov 19 (KUNA) -- The Islamic State (IS) group has lost grip of its last city in Syria, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported on Sunday.
Syrian regime forces backed by Lebanese and Iraqi militias have regained complete control of Al-Bukamal, a city situated on the Euphrates river on Syria's borders with Iraq, according to SOHR.
The government forces and their allies are now carrying out a clean-up operation after the withdrawal of the last remaining IS fighters. (end) tk.sd
