Five people killed in Syrian regime attack on E. Ghouta - groups

AMMAN, Nov 7 (KUNA) -- Five people were killed and others injured when the Syrian regime forces attacked residential buildings in the eastern Ghouta, Damascus, according to Syrian groups Tuesday.
Syrian regular army's artillery shelled Saqba town in eastern Ghouta killing five civilians, including two women and two children, and wounding others, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) and Shaam News Network (SNN) said in two statements.
Other towns in eastern Ghouta were also bombarded by the Syrian regime troops, they said. Around 300,000 people has been living in bad conditions in eastern Ghouta for more than four years.
SNN said the opposition appealed to UN Secretary General to press the Syrian regime lift the siege on eastern Ghouta to allow entry of humanitarian supplies and allow the sick persons to leave.
Meanwhile, SOHR said a number of explosions rocked many areas in central Damascus and injured a number of people.
Syrian official news agency (SANA) said armed groups attacked central Damascus and injured 13 people. (end) tk.bs
