Tillerson hopes Gulf row parties engage in dialogue

RIYADH, Oct 22 (KUNA) -- US State Secretary Rex Tillerson has expressed hope that all parties of the Gulf row engage in a dialogue to dissolve the crisis.
Addressing a press conference with Saudi counterpart Adel Al-Jubeir in Riyadh Sunday, Tillerson said that the US Administration is concerned about defusing the crisis, and restoring the situation of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) before it erupted, for its importance for the US to maintain security and stability in the region.
For his part, Al-Jubeir said the Kingdom holds consultations with the UAE, Bahrain and Egypt on the next steps with Qatar, saying that his talks with Tillerson also addressed "Iran's peril to the region." Earlier today, the US Secretary of State met with Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Premier and Minister of Defense.
Tillerson also attended the opening of the Saudi-Iraqi Coordination Council together with King Salman and Iraqi Prime Minister Haidar Al-Abadi. (end) ad.amm.msa
