Tanzania praises Kuwait's support for its developmental projects

KUWAIT, Oct 22 (KUNA) -- Tanzanian minister of works, transports and communications Makame Mbarawa has expressed his country's appreciation to Kuwait's efforts in supporting various developing projects in his country.
Mbarawa, who met with Kuwait's ambassador to Tanzania Jassim Al-Najem in the Capital Dar Al-Salam, said "Tanzanian people appreciate the role played by Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED) in the fields of agriculture, road constructions and expansion of hospitals".
"His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah has a prestigious position as a leader of Humanitarian work worldwide", he added.
The Minister noted, in a statement issued by Kuwaiti Embassy in Tanzania, that his country praises bilateral relations with Kuwait and seeks further cooperation in the investment sector.
Tanzania is looking forward to expand its relations with Kuwaiti businessmen through financing developmental projects and public services, the statement added.
The two sides reviewed the potential benefits to investors in financing the highway project between the commercial capital of Dar Al-Salam and the new political capital of Dodoma.
KFAED has so far financed many developmental projects in Tanzania.
The latest project that was financed by KFAED was a 51-million-dollar construction project connecting Tanzania with Burundi and Rwanda to facilitate trade exchange between the three countries, as well as another project to expand and equip the main hospital in Zanzibar with a total coast of USD 13.6 million.(end) am.nhq
