Iraq to proceed exporting Kirkuk oil

BAGHDAD, Oct 18 (KUNA) -- Iraq's Oil Ministry said on Wednesday it is making plans to develop disputed oilfields after seizing areas of Kirkuk.
In a statement to KUNA, the Iraqi Oil Minister's spokesman Asem Jihad said that Iraqi government forces took control of the entire disputed oil-rich region of Kirkuk, adding that ministry and the state-owned North Oil Company are currently assessing the situation in those fields.
Iraqi oil minister Jabar Al-Luaibi had announced Tuesday that all the oil fields in Kirkuk province are back under Iraqi government control. (end) ahh.haq
