N. Korean leader warns Trump of 'highest-level' actions

TOKYO, Sept 22 (KUNA) -- North Korean leader Kim Jong-un has responded to US Donald Trump's recent UN address, threatening to take the "highest level action," the North's state media reported Friday.
"Trump has denied the existence of and insulted me and my country in front of the eyes of the world. We will consider with seriousness exercising of a corresponding, highest level of hard-line countermeasure in history," Kim said in his rate statement carried by the official Korean Central News Agency.
He made remarks in response to Trump's speech at the UN General Assembly on Tuesday, which the president referred to Kim as "Rocket Man" and warned of totally destroying North Korea over its nuclear and missile programs.
"His remarks which described the US option through straightforward expression of his will have convinced me, rather than frightening or stopping me, that the path I chose is correct and that it is the one I have to follow to the last," said Kim.
The North Korean leader ended the statement as saying he will "surely and definitely tame the mentally deranged US dotard with fire." Pyongyang conducted its sixth and most powerful nuclear test on Sept. 3, which it said was an H-bomb that can be mounted on a long-range missile. It also fired a ballistic missile from its west coast on Sept. 15 that flew over Japan before falling into the Pacific Ocean. (end) mk.tg
