MADRID, Sept 21 (KUNA) -- A Spanish parliamentarian lauded Thursday the democratic process in the State of Kuwait, saying that the Kuwaiti National Assembly was one of the most transparent and trustworthy parliamentary bodies in the Middle East region.
After meeting with a Kuwaiti parliamentary delegation -- headed by MP Askar Al-Enezi -- chairperson of the foreign affairs committee at the Spanish parliament Pilar Rojo told KUNA and Kuwait television that Spain was eager to bolster relations with the GCC nation.
She lauded the Kuwaiti efforts within counterterrorism, affirming that Kuwait was a beacon of stability and hope in the region.
On the meeting with the Kuwaiti delegation, the Spanish parliamentarian revealed that both sides focused on bolstering relations on all possible levels.
She affirmed that Kuwaitis were welcomed to visit and invest in Spain, saying that the current boom in the number of Kuwaitis tourists in her country was a positive sign.
On his part, Kuwaiti Ambassador to Spain Suleiman Al-Harbi said that the Kuwaiti parliamentary delegation's visit was an extension of his country's foreign policy and also was in line with the Kuwaiti leadership's desires to further bolster relations with Spain.
Casting light on the Kuwaiti-Spanish meeting, the Ambassador said that the resumption of friendship committees' meetings after the Spanish economic crisis was a good step towards realizing the dreams of both countries.
The Kuwaiti parliamentary delegation, which is on a European tour, is expected to head to Switzerland after Spain. (pickup previous) hnd.gta
