TOKYO, Sept 21 (KUNA) -- The head of neurosurgery department at Ibn Sina Hospital and chairman of the Kuwaiti neurological society Dr. Jassem Al-Hashel headed a session at the World Congress of Neurology (WCN) held in Kyoto, Japan.
The six-day congress, which began in September 16, is attended by 10,000 doctors from various parts of the world, said a statement by Al-Hashel obtained by KUNA.
The event discussed the latest developments in the field therapeutic neurological diseases.
Dr. Al-Hashel delivered a lecture on a one-year study on headaches. The study included 16,000 people from all Kuwait.
It tackled migraines in specific during various life stages and discussed the disorder's diagnosis.
A migraine is a disease causing severe throbbing pain or a pulsing sensation, usually on just one side of the head. It is often accompanied by nausea, vomiting, and extreme sensitivity to light and sound.
Migraine attacks can cause significant pain for hours to days and can be so severe that the pain is disabling. (end) mk.lb
