By Arwa Al-Wagayan KUWAIT, Sept 21 (KUNA) -- A Donation campaign began to gather money and supplies for Myanmar's oppressed Rohingya minority, announced the Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS).
Secretary General of KRCS Maha Al-Barjas told KUNA that the society was eager to help the Rohingya Muslims with medical supplies and other necessities.
She added that some 400,000 Rohingyas, who are oppressed by Myanmar's Buddhist majority, would receive aid in Bangladesh where they sought refuge.
On his part, head of public relations at KRCS Khaled Al-Zaid said that the current three-day campaign at the Avenues Mall would allow people from all walks of life to donate to the Rohingyas.
It is a mere gesture of solidarity that Kuwait is always known for, affirmed Al-Zaid. (end) akw.gta
