Turkish police arrest 10 suspects for covering up on PKK rebels

ISTANBUL, Sept 21 (KUNA) -- Turkish police forces on Thursday carried out simultaneous security operations in several neighborhoods in Istanbul which resulted in the arrest of 10 people on suspicion of covering up on elements of the Organization of the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK).
The Anadolu news agency quoted security sources as saying that the anti-terrorism division of the Security Directorate of Istanbul raided simultaneously several neighborhoods of the city, pointing out that the operation resulted in the arrest of 10 people accused of harboring and treating the wounded militants of the Kurdistan Workers Party.
It explained that the arrested persons had agreed with a number of doctors to perform operations for the victims of the Kurdistan Workers Party from rural areas and after the signing of medical examination of the accused detainees, they were taken to the Directorate of Security to complete legal proceedings against them.(end).
