Of the 139 killed, 64 were in the state of Morelos, 29 in Puebla state, one in Guerrero, nine in the state of Mexico surrounding the capital, and 36 in Mexico City, according to officials and local news reports.

Many roads, including a major highway, is damaged, while Mexico City's airport is currently closed for inspections.
The US Geological Survey reported that the epicenter was 122 kilometers southeast of Mexico City near a town called Raboso in Puebla at 1:14 pm local time.
The US has offered its assistance to Mexico if the country asks for help.
The US embassy has also told American citizens that it is ready to provide consular services to those in need.
