Int'l community condemns N. Korea's nuclear test

KUWAIT, Sept 4 (KUNA) -- The international community continued to condemn North Korea's latest nuclear test considering it a new violation of UN Security Council regulations.
"Italy is strongly condemning the North Korean nuclear program, considering it a serious and growing threat to global order, peace and security", said Italian Foreign Minister Angelino Alfano in a statement.
He noted that North Korea is the only country that violated the international ban on nuclear testing in the 21st century reaffirming urgent need to re-activate the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty.
On his part, Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Fikri Eshq called on N. Korea to act rationally and abandon all provocative actions, said Anadolu news agency.
"The United Nations must play a crucial role in this crisis, where measures against North Korea should be taken and implemented as soon as possible", he added.
Spain considered the recent nuclear test done by N. Korea "a provocative action and an unacceptable challenge to international and regional peace and security," according to a press release by Spanish Foreign Ministry.
It said that the hydrogen bomb experiment is a great violation to international laws and regulations calling on Pyong Yang to abandon its program completely otherwise it will affect relations between the two countries.
North Korea said Sunday that it successfully conducted a test of a hydrogen bomb that can be loaded into its intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMs).(end) mn.ta.hnd.nhq
