Australia strongly condemns N. Korea's missile test

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 29 (KUNA) -- Australia condemned in the strongest terms Tuesday the latest North Korean ballistic missile test, which flew over northern Japan. Australia's Foreign Ministry said in a statement, that the launch of the missile by Pyongyang is a provocative and threatening act by a dangerous regime.
The North Korean nuclear program violates multiple UNSC resolutions and it is breaches international law.
Australia continues its efforts to stop such acts and calls on all countries to adhere to existing Security Council resolutions.
Australia called for imposing strong sanctions on Pyongyang to change its behavior.
It also stressed its commitment to work with partners, including the United States, Japan, the Republic of Korea, and China, to impose costs on the regime in order to end its threatening and destabilizing behavior. (end) aab.shf
