Central Library adopts optical system for conservation, research

KUWAIT, Aug 23 (KUNA) -- Ministry of Education said on Wednesday its central library has adopted a new electronic searching system using optical technique for information and electronic inventory to save time and efforts .
The library, which contains 35,000 books, was equipped with the latest technical means searching for books and saving information, said acting director of school libraries department in the Ministry of Education, Ahmed Al-Majidi, in a statement.
The department will activate the project (share office), in cooperation with the educational development sector, Al-Majidi added.
He noted that the activation of the project would be through four materials, namely Arabic language, Islamic education, English language and science to be applied initially at the intermediate level.
He explained that libraries in new schools were equipped with all supplies of books, novels, periodicals, furniture and electronic devices.
The process will be supervised by a special team formed from both technical affairs and periodic services monitoring departments.
The administration is finalizing the project to complete the e-library through coordination with educational areas that have an infrastructure of internet networks.(end) mrf.nhq
