CAIRO, Aug 23 (KUNA) -- Arab nations should work together as one cohesive unit to ensure that all strategies laid out by economic and social councils in the region ultimately come to fruition, said a Kuwaiti official Wednesday.
Speaking to KUNA on the sidelines of the 100th session of the Arab Economic and Social Council, the Kuwaiti ministry of finance's assistant undersecretary for economic affairs Sulaiman Al-Abduljalil, said that the session brought together senior officials from across the Arab economic spectrum.
On issues discussed, Al-Abduljalil, who heads the Kuwaiti delegation to the session, said that talks centered on plans to boost cooperation between Arab nations in the economic realm.
He pointed out that officials also examined how far progress has come on decisions made in previous meetings, all of which aim to provide Arab countries with the opportunity to work closely together in the economic arena.
The Kuwaiti official added that a slew of forthcoming meetings are on the horizon, including an Arab-South American summit set to take place in Venezuela in 2018. (end) ms.nam
