TOKYO, Aug 23 (KUNA) -- North Korean leader Kim Jong-un has ordered more production of solid-fuel rocket engines and warhead tips for intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMs), state media reported Wednesday.

"He instructed the institute to produce more solid-fuel rocket engines and rocket warhead tips by further expanding the engine production process and the production capacity of rocket warhead tips and engine jets by carbon and carbon compound material," KCNA said. Kim has also given "special thanks and a special bonus" to officials of the institute, calling them "unassuming heroes" and "patriotic scientists." heroes.
The report came after US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson said Tuesday that he welcomes what he called North Korea's recent restraint from provocations. Last month, Pyongyang fired two intercontinental ballistic missiles, called the Hwasong-14, with a range that could include more of the US mainland, such as Los Angeles and Chicago. (end) mk.ss
