Consortium wins Kabd Solid Waste Project

KUWAIT, Aug 20 (KUNA) -- A consortium led by French Constructions Industrielles de La Mediterranee (CNIM) has been chosen to execute Kabd Municipal Solid Waste Project, Kuwait Authority for Partnership Projects (KAPP) said on Sunday.
The investment period is 25 years, in addition to 44 months for designing and construction, KAPP said in a statement to KUNA.
Led by CNIM, Gulf Investment Corporation (GIC) and Al Mulla Group, the consortium has been selected for the project according to financial and technical assessment results, it added.
As a routine procedure, the relevant documents were sent to the State Audit Bureau (SAB) for approval, the KAPP added.
The project aims at the construction of a solid waste treatment plant with a capacity of 3,275 tons per day located in the south of the ground broadcasting station in the Kabd area, 35 kilometers away from Kuwait City. The project covers a total area of 500,000 square meters. The site will provide a number of services including treatment using incinerators for generating electricity, and landfilling the ash from the remains of the incineration. (end) fnk.asa.mt
