Iraqi PM announces start of Tal Afar liberation operation

BAGHDAD, Aug 20 (KUNA) -- Iraqi Prime Minister Haider Al-Abadi has announced the start of Tal Afar liberation operation from the so-called Islamic State (IS) in the province of Nineveh, northern Iraq Sunday.
"I am saying to 'Daesh' that there's no choice other than to leave or be killed," Al-Abadi said during a televised speech.
All forces, including army, police, anti-terrorism and Popular Mobilization units, also known as 'Hashd Sha'abi' fighters will take part in the operations, Al-Abadi pointed out.
Tal Afar is the main remaining IS stronghold in the northern part of Iraq, he added. Where IS are still controlling Hawiaja in Kirkuk province, north of Baghdad, and cities above Euphrates. (end) ahh.kna.ss
