Catalonia attacks' death toll up to 14, 130 injured

MADRID, Aug 18 (KUNA) -- The death toll of two stampede attacks in Catalonia, Spain, went up to 14, and at least 130 others from 34 countries were injured, according to official reports.
There are two Spaniards among the victims of the incidents; a 56-year-old man and a three-year-old child, Barcelona emergency agency was quoted by Spanish TV as saying.
The van attack on Las Ramblas avenue in central Barcelona claimed the lives of 13 people, while an identical incident in the town of Cambrils left one person dead, the agency said.
Catalonia police have arrested four suspects so far, Spanish TV said.
Las Ramblas is Barcelona's main tourist attraction. Germany and Belgium have been among countries confirming fatalities among their nationals visiting Spain.
Earlier on Friday, Spaniards observed a minute of silence in homage to the victims of Thursday's deadly van attack in Barcelona.
Attending the somber and symbolic ceremony in the city main square were Premier Mariano Rajoy and King Felipe VI, along with politicians, prominent figures and thousands of citizens. (end) hnd.mt
