Abu Dhabi Crown Prince lauds Saudi King's efforts on Al-Aqsa

ABU DHABI, July 27 (KUNA) -- Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces Sheikh Mohammad bin Zayed Al Nahyan, has praised Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud's fruitful efforts on Al-Aqsa, which led to reopening of the mosque.
King Salman asserted the historical responsibility of the Kingdom for serving Islam and Muslims through efforts to end the Israeli occupation forces restrictions on Al-Aqsa Mosque, the Emirates News Agency (WAM) quoted Sheikh Mohammad bin Zayed..
Sheikh Mohammad added that Saudi Arabia is committed, and eager to protect Al-Aqsa, being Islam's third holiest site and Muslims' first Qibla, the statement said.
Meanwhile, Sheikh Mohammad said noted that the international community should fully assume its responsibility for ending the Israeli occupation. He also reiterated the necessity of resuming efforts on the Arab Peace Initiative.
Earlier today, Saudi Arabia's Royal Court issued a statement acknowledging the King's successful efforts along with a number of leaders on Al-Aqsa's situation, that contributed to restoring stability and serenity to worshipers and preserved their dignity along with their security.
According to the statement relayed by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), King Salman stressed "the need for the return of calm at Al-Aqsa Mosque and its surroundings, the respect for the sanctity of the place, and that Muslims must return to enter the mosque and perform worship in it with all security, tranquility and peace effective from today."
