Arab lawmakers to hold urgent talks on Israeli "breaches"

RABAT, July 26 (KUNA) -- The Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union (AIPU) will hold an urgent conference on Thursday to discuss "stark Israeli breaches" to the sanctity of Al-Aqsa Mosque, it said on Wednesday.
In a statement, the AIPU said the conference would be held amid "exceptional circumstances" and condemned Israel for its recent prevention of worshippers from attending Friday prayers.
These actions represent a clear breach of international law, a provocation of the emotions of Muslims and are an infringement upon the rights of the Palestinian people, said the AIPU.
Arab lawmakers will discuss the issue alongside the Arab League Secretary General Ahmed Abulgheit at the conference, which will result in a communique and a set of recommendations, the statement added. (end) mri.sd
