RABAT, July 25 (KUNA) -- Kuwait Ambassador in Rabat Abdullatif Al-Yahya said Tuesday his country was keen on supporting development projects in Morocco.
Al-Yahya made the remarks to KUNA after Kuwait signed a loan agreement worth KD 15 million (USD 50 million) with Morocco to fund a high-speed rail line that will connect the central and northern parts of the North African monarchy.
Kuwait's support also includes farming, fishing, transportation and roads, said Al-Yahya, in a drive to achieve economic and social development that would improve living conditions of the Moroccan people.
This support, he said, came upon instructions of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and Moroccan King Mohammad VI.
Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development's (KFAED) Director General Abdulwahab Al-Bader signed the loan agreement with Moroccan Minister of Economy and Finance Mohammad Boussaid.
The rail line, one of the grandest projects Morocco has ever launched, will operate train trips with blazing speed and a reduced travel time of two hours, between the cities of Casablanca and Tangier. (pickup previous) mry.bs
