Egyptian court sentences 28 defendants to death

CAIRO, July 22 (KUNA) -- An Egyptian court sentenced to death some 28 individuals connected with the assassination of former General Prosecutor Justice Hisham Barakat.
The Cairo criminal court headed by Justice Hassan Fareed also handed in sentences ranging from life in prison to 10 years incarceration against 39 other defendants.
On June 29, 2015, the suspects were involved in an attack targeting Justice Hisham Barakat police convoy in Cairo. (end) rg.gta
